Art is a fun way to make your space unique, while also curating a vibe. However, there's a lot of art out there, which can make the process overwhelming. So, here are a few tips to help you incorporate art into your space.
Find Pieces That Make You Feel Something
The first step for finding the right art for your space, is finding art that makes you feel something. Take your time shopping, and see what you’re naturally drawn to.
My favorite places to shop are local shops and Etsy. I also recommend Pinterest for finding inspiration and discovering what you like.
Styling Your Picks
Once you have a good feel for what you like and what you want to fill your space with, it’s time to consider how everything will meld together in your space.
Consider Color Scheme: Keep your space cohesive, with a similar color scheme (or style.) Also, note that the colors you choose will influence the mood of the room. So, keep in mind how you want feel in that space and what you want to use that space for.
Consider Scale: A larger picture can be a focal point, while smaller pieces can create a unique look and texture. Personally, I love a good art wall, with a mix of different pictures. It just depends on what you want for your space, and what you're working with.
Pro Tip: Cut out paper in the size of each picture and play with those (to visualize your art wall) before attaching any art to the wall.
Art Comes In Different Forms
Remember art comes in many forms, it's not just wall hangings, but also vases, books, furniture and more! So, try incorporating different forms of art, to add more texture and style to your space. Don’t be afraid to be playful!
Decorating your space is a process, so take your time and have fun!
